Tom Murie with his 4-port Riley powered car at the Trego County Fairgrounds in WaKeeney, Kansas in 1937.  He won the feature in this car on that day.  He also crashed it tearing down 50 feet of fence after tangeling with another car after the finish of a race at Memphis, Tennessee on September 18, 1937.  He was entered to race at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson just three days later but injuries from his Memphis crash kept him for competing.  Murie participated in automobile races in the Midwest from 1919 until 1939 - Al Murie collection
