The #10 hot rod at the bottom of this photo was owned by the Forrest family of Wichita, Kansas but the driver here is unidentified.  The #355 hot rod in the center of the photograph was driven by Charlie Lutkie.  The white #81 hot rod, third from left, was owned by Earl Mills of Newton, Kansas and probably driven by Bill Perkins.  Drivers of #3, #4, and #15 have yet to be identified.  The photo was taken at Jayhawk Speedway in Newton in 1948 – Mills collection

The only thing that has been identified in this photo so far that was taken at Jayhawk Speedway in Newton, Kansas is the #81 hot rod at the far right side of the photo.  It was usually driven by Bill Perkins and both the hot rod and the racetrack were owned by Earl Mills – Mills collection

The second hot rod from the left in the center of this photo is #18 driven by John Conley and sponsored by Butts Buick.  The #8 was owned by Marvin Church.  This photo was taken at Jayhawk Speedway in Newton, Kansas c1949s – Mills collection
