Buchanan was “a horseshoe’s pitch” behind Anderson at the finish.  Dugan slid wide in the south turn on the 90th lap and plowed into a large pile of mud.  The cars driven by McCormick and Ware both dropped out after losing a wheel.

* His name has also been found spelled "Bill Reylieh."

** According to published prerace reports, this car was driven by Jim Clark of Ft. Worth, Texas and Jim was a son of "Texas George Clark" who won three feature races at Hutchinson back in the late teens.  That may have been the work of an overzealous publicity man as, according to IMCA's official records, car #13 was actually registered to Rodney Clark of Emporia, Kansas.
