Keeling’s car crashed into a low concrete gate at the head of the front straightway. He was treated for an arm injury and released from the local hospital.
Stauffer’s car was heavily damaged when he spun into the outside wall in the southwest turn.

Stott challenged Derr early in this race but then dropped back. He then had to make a pit stop on the nineteenth lap to have the left front fender pulled away from the tire after side-swiping another car.
