Sites’ car crashed into the fence on the north turn on the first lap of the race.

Copeland’s car lost a wheel on the front straightaway on the third lap of this race.  The wheel jumped a fence in front of the grandstand, struck two boys seriously injuring one and fatally injuring the other.

When the race restarted, the cars of Torson and Flatt got together with Flatt’s car striking the fence in front of the grandstand flying high into the air spinning around several times, then landing on its side.

Brotherton crashed his car into the south fence and then flipped on the fifth lap.
