These drivers raced for one lap, the drivers got out, ran around their cars, got back in and raced for another lap. After the second lap, they got out, ate a piece of pie, got back in and raced for another lap. After the third lap, they got out, drank a cup of soda pop, got back in to their cars, and raced for another lap. The one who completed the fourth lap first was the winner.

Ellis crashed half way through the north fence. He was able to make it to get out and run to safety so the race continued.
Kosiski lost control while passing two cars at once on the back stretch and crashed through the fence knocking down three large sections of the fence in the process.
Dake held the lead for 24½ laps in the feature before being passed by Derr who was never more than four car lengths behind. Derr won by about one yard. Dake tried to take the south turn too fast just after the race ended but spun backward into the fence.
* Darrell Dake went on to compete in the Daytona 500 twice.
** Dick Hutcherson (1931-2005) went on to compete in the Daytona 500 three times.
*** Ramo Stott went on to compete in the Daytona 500 eleven times.
**** Bob Kosiski went on to compete in the Daytona 500 in 1960.
