The cars driven by Main and Graves struck the large hold in the southwest turn at the same time, then crashed into each other and rolled simultaneously.  Just seconds later, Lutkie’s car rolled in the northeast turn.

Hendershot had a big lead when the race was stopped due to the three overturned cars.  On the restart, Ward shot around Hendershot to take the lead.  Two laps later, Ward slid wide in a turn allowing Hendershot to regain the lead.  The two cars ran nose-to-tail until the last lap when Ward attempted a pass for the lead in the southwest turn only to hit the big hole in the track and bounce into the outside crash wall.  That left Henderson with a big lead over Moore and he won easily.

McNett also crashed into the outside wall on the final lap coming to rest against the wall on the back stretch.

Cates crashed hard into the outside wall just exiting the northwest turn onto the front straightaway causing a big pileup that also involved the cars of Speicher, Allen, Lutkie, Hacker, and Harrington.  Cates’ car was destroyed in the crash but there were no serious injuries.

          Kizzar’s car lost a wheel.

The cars of Stewart and Hayes either slid off into mud holes or were pushed off into them.  Hayes’ car was pulled from the mud and got going again only to be involved in another wreck with Caney in the southwest turn.

Pickering’s car crashed into the outside wall.

Martin’s car spun into the infield in the northeast turn.

Miller’s car rolled in the northeast turn.

Only 8 cars finished this race.

Wagoner’s John-Hebb-owned car hit the big hole in the southwest turn, careened into the outside wall punching a hole in the concrete structure.

Sloan’s car crashed into the outside wall in the southeast turn.  Dodson soon came along and crashed into it.

The cars of Gilmore and Brack tangled in the south turn but both were able to get going again.

Ward’s car spun out in the southeast turn.

Finney’s car crashed into the wall near the northeast turn.

The cars driven by Moore and Henderson tangled with each spinning 360° but both kept going.
