This photo of Jerry Everhart in his Hudson Super-Six powered rail was taken on this weekend at the Hutchinson Nationals.  The car had been built by Everhart’s brothers-in-law, Larry Lancett and Bob McElree (a.k.a. 1 The official program did not list a 13th position in time trials skipping from 12th to 14th position instead.

 

2 Richard M. “Dick” Hendershot (1925-1976) was fatally injured in a racing accident at Salina, Kansas.

 

3 Lucky Neumeier and Francis Kingan each drove two different cars in time trials.

 

4 Bud Montgomery’s car was checked in at the pit gate as #5 but the number was changed to #56 by officials for these races.

 

5 Bob Moberly’s car was checked in at the pit gate as #121 bit the number was changed to #60 by officials for these races.

 

6 For some undetermined reason, the time for #69 Jack Petty was disallowed.

 

7 Francis Kingan time in two different cars time trials.  One was #32 and the other was #94.
