Chesterman started on the pole while Singleton started on the outside of the front row. Weve started on the inside of the second row while Oelkers started on the outside of that row. Stoner started on the outside of the third row. Singleton suffered a flat tire while racing with Oelkers and Chesterman for the lead early in this race. Oelkers assumed the lead on the second lap and won by a wide margin over Blevens who gained second place on the final turn when he made contact with the car driven by Chesterman sending that car spinning.
