Steve Kinser led the first eight laps building up a half-lap lead over second place Ewell.  Entering the southwest turn on the ninth lap, Kinser attempted to lap French on the outside but his left front tire touched French’s right rear tire sending Kinser’s mount careening into the outside crash wall and out of the race.  When the racing resumed, Ewell was the new leader and held that position to the finish.  The victory paid $5,250 from the purse.
