Robbins started on the pole with Franz on the outside of the front tow and Shipman on the inside of the third row. Johnson started on the inside of row three and Davis started on the inside of the sixth row. Shipman and John Allen got together in the northwest turn early in the race resulting in Allen spinning his car into the infield. He was able to get it straightened out and back in the race. Shipman then led until the final turn of the race when a broken tie rod from his earlier tangle with Allen lodged itself in his left front suspension preventing him from straightening his car out as it exited the final turn thus spinning it into the infield and out of the race. Davis started on the inside of the sixth row. First place paid $3,000 from the night's purse.
