Ewell started on the pole with Gray outside of the front row.  By the 15th lap, Ewell was enjoying a half a straightaway lead over Gray.  Ewell had to slow when one of his tires went bad allowing Gray to close the distance and pass for the lead in the southeast turn on the 26th lap.  Ewell regained the lead a half lap later only to loose it again to Gray exiting the northwest turn on the 29th lap.  On the finial turn of the race, Gray’s car struck Baker’s car while trying to lap it and spun into the infield allowing Ewell to once again take the lead which he held to the finish.
