*Everett Freeman “Eddie” Balmer (1908-1979) was also known as “Ev” Balmer. He and his brother, Herb Balmer, began their racing careers in Denver, Colorado in 1930 and then toured Midwest races for four months before returning home to California where they continued racing and where Herb was fatally injured in a racing accident in 1934.
