Cecil “Junior” Maupin tied for the fastest time in time trials driving this car at Ulysses on this afternoon. He then won the feature race for micro-midgets – Maupin collection
36-year-old Arthur L. “Art” James was killed on July 7, 1951 when the Piper 125 airplane he was piloting struck a telephone line and crashed while he was crop dusting a field northwest of Ulysses. He was survived by his wife, three children, and his parents.
