John Carter and Odle both spun out. Dale Carter and Selfridge both dropped out with mechanical problems. This was the first race that Coffman ever competed in. He cut a corner too close and crashed into a tractor tire / infield marker causing sufficient damage to the car to put him out of competition for the night. |
