Event One – First Heat Race – Match Race Between Two Automobiles – Purse $1,000 plus a Gold Medal for the best two out of three finishes – 4 Laps

The winner of the best two out of three races was to race against Sig Haugdahl on Saturday on this racetrack for the “Dirt Track Championship of the World”.  Horey won by a thin margin.

Horey defeated Disbrow in a close race and thus won the right to compete against Sig Haugdahl on Saturday for the “Dirt Track Championship of the World”.

Toft won by a close margin over both Disbrow and Horey.  Each of the three drivers got a share of the posted $2,000 purse for this race but it is unknown which got how much.
