* Austin E. Wetzler (1903-1962) of Dallas, Texas raced for many years under the alias “Tex West”. He was also well known by the nickname “Ironhead”.
** The #77 midget that Harold Priddy had driven all season, had been sold since the last race at West Side Speedway, to Duke Westerhaus and Bill Martin who repainted it and got Red Taylor to drive it for them.
*** This was a rare night in that not a single car was lapped in the 30-lap A Feature race.
