* Rex Woodward turned in the fastest time in time trials and won the first heat race in the Felix Graves owned midget he was driving. He was not injured when he flipped the car later in the program.
** A local newspaper listed "Jack Territt" as winner of the second match race on this day while National Auto Racing News listed "West Coast driver Jack Terrett" as the winner of that race but there is no other known record that Jack Territt (or Terrett) was even entered in these races. "Jack Territt", a midget driver from Medford, Oregon in the late 1930s and Jack Terrett, a power boat racer from San Francisco, California in the early 1950s were probably all the same man.
*** Morris "Red" Pennington moved to Wichita from Stafford, Kansas and often raced under the alias "Oscar Pennington".
Except where otherwise noted, all of the photographs on this web page are from the book One Tough Circuit, Midget Racing in America’s Heartland by Bill Hill
