When fast cars go into competition on the racetrack, things are bound to happen. The Southeast Kansas Racing Club at Coffeyville is putting on the Winfield Lions club racing program at the fairgrounds track Thursday, July 4. More than 25 cars are listed for the competition reports Roy Duncan, racing club secretary. All the cars entered are in a higher displacement class than cars previously seen in action at the Winfield races and are faster. Time trials are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and the competitive races at 2 p.m. There are seven events scheduled.

Stock Car Races
The stock car racing program at the fairgrounds Thursday, put on by the Southeast Kansas Racing Club of Coffeyville and under the auspices of the Winfield Lions club, was well attended and the fans witnessed expert handling of the equipment which had plenty of power for the half-mile track which was treacherous on the turns.
Officials were Roy Duncan, association secretary, entry recorder; Cleo White, starter; Bill Bowser, announcer; Harold D. Jaggers, Lester Hine, and Fred Savage, technical staff.
