3Tex West, of Dallas, TX won a 15-lap main event on this racetrack on July 27, 1935 driving his own 214 cu. in. 4 cyl. Model-A Ford powered big car with a Riley head. The Winfield Daily Courier reported his time for that race as being 4:43.0 but, as that would have required an average of 18.9 seconds per lap and an average speed of 95.25 m.p.h. on the flat half-mile dirt track so the accuracy of that report is doubtful.
