McWhorter led until the 14th lap when he lost the lead to Leep while lapping a car in the northeast turn.  As the cars exited the northwest turn on that same lap, Allison spun in front of the lead cars and Leep and Lies crashed into the outside wall in attempt to keep from crashing into Allison’s car broadside.  When the race was restarted, McWhorter was again in the lead and stayed there for the remainder of the race.
