Scott Miller and Howard were side-by-side on the back straightaway on the final lap when Miller lost control of his car and spun into the infield. Howard slowed for the incident and was passed by Moses and Young.

Powers started on the outside of the second row and led until the tenth lap when he was passed by Crough. A caution flag caused the lineup to revert one lap putting Powers in the lead and he maintained the advantage after that.
