FAIRTIME  HERE  THIS  WEEK-END

SUNDAY (August 19th) - Final event of a big fair week-end is stock car races at 2 p.m., and Jaycee sponsors said it is known some of the state top drivers will be here.  A good field is expected as well because of fair pull.  Five tons of salt are being put on the track to keep dust down.

Jaycees said drivers of 23 cars who gave a crowd-pleasing performance at the Thomas County Fair (Wednesday night, August 8, 1962) indicated they will be here.

Trophy Presentation Photos Taken Minutes Apart on This Afternoon

Nut Cokeley is shown standing near the right rear wheel of his rail awaiting the trophy girl to be escorted over for the trophy presentation after Nut won the trophy dash driving the white #7 rail owned by Pete Ansley of Adams, Oklahoma.

None of the people in this “trophy presentation” photo have been identified but the man was probably the winner of the jalopy trophy dash.
